Distance Learning for Australian and International Students
Have you ever wanted to learn an extra skill to enhance you current career, or to begin a new career? When most people think of study, they immediately think of enrolling at a University or TAFE College. However, these days study can be done just about anywhere. For instance, it is possible to study quality correspondence education courses with personal tutors, all from comfort of your own home.
One of Australia’s leaders in correspondence education courses is the Australian College QED (ACQ) , which is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a member of the Australian Council of Private Education and Training (ACPET). The ACQ has formed alliances and affiliations with institutions such as the New Zealand Institute of Business Studies (NZIBS) for mutual recognition in NZ, Central Queensland University, I Q ShareMarket Systems and E*Trade, The Sydney Travel Training College, Business Learning Centre in Newcastle, Southbank Institute of Technology and numerous academic and governmental organisations.
The ACQ provides its distance education courses via correspondence, meaning all the materials you require are delivered to your doorstep. Most courses include texts, CDs/DVDs and/or supplementary online topics. Students also receive password access to the eCampus, which provides additional supplements, activities and the Student Discussion Forum.
In the words of the ACQ, the “Australian College has chosen tutor-assisted correspondence learning supplemented with a blend of other supporting methods because research has shown students prefer their course materials in print form. The tutor-assisted component of our correspondence learning approach ensures students aren't simply enrolled and forgotten about. We provide student support through direct contact with our College Advisers, regular updates through eNews and annual Newsletters.
And we provide the highest standard of tutoring service. Our tutors are industry professionals who all work in the field they are tutoring. In other words, they are not teachers who happen to know something about the subject; they are experts who work in the industry they tutor in. Our tutors work from home and usually tutor part-time while they run their own professional businesses or work in-house for like businesses. For instance, our photography tutors are professional photographers by day while they tutor after hours and on weekends…
At the commencement of your course you receive a beautifully presented College binder with a starter pack of course materials. Each learning module contains a tutorial (learning content and activities) and an assignment (project marked by your tutor). The tutorials form the structure of your course and each tutorial builds on the previous one as you work through the course.
You have up to 5 years to complete your studies, so you can proceed with the course at your own pace (unless you are on a time-limited government-funded program). If other commitments interfere, you can defer your studies at any time during this period.â€
ACQ courses are available to students all over the world
Many students enrol in ACQ courses while living overseas. However, others have enrolled while in Australia and then moved overseas, with the knowledge that they can continue their studies where ever they go.
If you are a student based outside of Australia, in any country other than New Zealand, you can enrol in any of our courses using our normal enrolment procedures.
If you live in New Zealand and are enquiring about our courses you may be required to enrol with our affiliate institute there: New Zealand Institute of Business Studies (NZIBS).

Workplace Experience program
The ACQ provide a Workplace Experience program to assist adult students of their College, who are 18 to 70 years and living in Australia, to gain real experience that will enhance their career or return-to-work opportunities.
This provides students with the opportunity to apply course knowledge to real world environments while at the same time gaining industry experience. The program also enables students the chance to build relationships with potential employers. A final benefit of work experience is that students can include it on their resume when applying for employment, which can only be seen as a distinct advantage over students not having any experience in the industry.
